It’s so much fun to mess around with old paintings, creating desktop backgrounds, birthday cards, web banners, etc. Lately, I’ve been noticing that the “big thing” online is the Avatar–a little 100 x 100-pixel graphic that goes with your screen name on blogs and message forums. I’ve made a couple for my own use, but have wanted to make a few “just for fun”. Here are some I made yesterday evening (you’re free to download and use them if you’d like).

How perfectly lovely they are! I am so drawn to paintings of long ago, particularly those of graceful ladies. I enjoy fiddling around with them on Photoshop, pairing them with thought-provoking quotations. Would you please tell me where you found the originals of the above? I would be grateful indeed. I had not had the pleasure of seeing several prior to visiting your blog. By the by, reading your articulate posts and viewing your stunning photographs has been a very enjoyable experience.
