Downhill Skiing
Tuesday, Jan 15th, 2008 by Janna
Last Friday, we spent the day downhill skiing at Giant’s Ridge Ski Resort in Biwabik, MN. What a wonderful day, especially as it was spent in the company of family and friends. I (figuratively) dusted off the ol’ Pinnacle Studio Plus movie editing software and created a little music video clip. Click on the play button (above) to watch the clip.
Downhill skiing one of the two sports activities I can honestly say I wholeheartedly enjoy. I like swimming in the summer, and skiing in the winter. And skiing is far and away my favorite of the two.
To own the truth, the actual skiing probably isn’t the main draw. It’s the people. Long rides up the chairlift, spent discussing favorite books, plotting and planning future get-togethers, and observing all the interesting characters one sees at a ski hill… Yes, some of my fondest memories have been formed on the long, cold ride back up to the top. I’ve wondered whether I’d enjoy skiing half so much if I went all by myself. You know, it’s doubtful.

Here’s me aboard the chairlift (alone, shockingly enough!) — striking a doofy pose. Typical.

How fun! I WISH that I could have gone too! Sometimes it stinks to be a grown-up! (Work!!)
Hey, you guys are great skiiers! I think you are better than most Colorado skiiers; well, at least this one
Hope that all of you can make it out here for a few runs before the season is over. Please, please? Love ya, Krista
Oh, Krista, I wish, wish, WISH we could come skiing in Colorado this winter! It’s not too late yet… We’ve kind-of stopped pestering Dad the last few weeks. Hmm, it’s about time to start up again, eh?
I loved it! I felt one with you guys on the slopes! I still dream about skiing now and again, but recently I have to hear all the details from my kids of their wild ski dramas. Hopefully before too long I can have another go of it! I love your blog!
Lol, that movie is so hilarious; good job.
You never cease to amaze me with your never ending talents! Movie making, expert skiers, bakers, braiders, sewers, creators of wee people, writers, orators, singers,….WOW!
