Yeah thanks for tagging me to...I just finished mine! Life is going pretty well, I'm working...trying to save up money for college next semester. I went on a mission's trip to Papua New Guinea this spring, and really believe God has called me there as a full-time Bible teacher, so now everything in my life is getting honed in for that goal. Anyway, so what's going on over in Minn?

Oh, the Laura Ingalls Wilder books were part of my growing up, too! I re-read one a few years ago, and was reveling in the descriptions Laura writes of their clothing -- invaluable to costume historians! I'll have to look up Constance Savery; I'm unfamiliar with her.

Thanks for "playing," Janna! Of course, I already knew from your goodreads "bookshelf" that we had similar tastes in books ;)

Yours in Christ,
Shannon

Many children's books (and I'm including those written for young adults) have something timeless and truthful and beautiful in them. I'd also rate many of my favourites from this genre.

Hello, Lauren! Thank you so much for your kind comments. If you're encouraged, I'm encouraged, too. :D
While I disagree with many of C. S. Lewis's beliefs and opinions, I still enjoy his writing very much. The same holds true for every single one of my "favorite authors". We must be very careful not to let these fallible human writers unduly influence our thinking. Basing my entire world-view on the writings of C. S. Lewis or Ken Ham or A. W. Tozer would be settling for second-best. Our knowledge of the Truth must come first and foremost from the inspired Word of God.
Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:2

Hi Janna,
I have been enjoying reading your blog for a while now, thanks for the time and effort you put into it! It's very encouraging. I am interested in your answer to the question about who your favorite authors are, especially C.S Lewis and J.R.R Tolkien. As a sister in Christ with your best interest in mind, I ask if you would read the this write up on C.S Lewis. It can be found here.

http://www.heavenisopen.com/narnia.html

I do not necessarily agree with everything this man believes doctrinally. However this paper an Narnia changed my life. Thanks and may God bless you more and more each day as you strive to follow Him!
