Pontoon Tubing
Monday, Jul 28th, 2008 by Janna

On Sunday afternoon, we took the pontoon out on Cass Lake and spent an afternoon relaxing in the sand, sun and water. Dad tied the water tube onto the back our great vessel (Erica wants her christened the Indefatigable) and gave us rides around the lake. I’d never had such a nice, calm tubing experience before. One fifty-horsepower motor, attached to that lumbering hulk (weighted down with six people), doesn’t give much of a thrill ride. Due to the slow speed, we waxed rather brave, and tried all sorts of new tricks. I even stood up, twice! For a split second. Sorry, no photo documentation. You’ll just have to take my word for it.

This looked like fun! My brother does this with our boat, only he likes to do it when Dad goes fast. My brother keeps asking me to try it, but after looking at him bouncing and hanging on with all of his might, I had two thoughts: How in the world would I ever untangle my hair and how would I ever hang on? So Mom and I enjoy sitting and relaxing, going at a calm pace.
