Sam and Mara, that &quot;ghostly hand&quot; effect is created by setting the camera&#039;s shutter to a slow speed, and by using a tripod to keep the camera steady during the long exposure time. I put my hand down in the picture, pressed the shutter release button, and then moved my hand sideways, which gave it that transparency. My hand didn&#039;t stay in one place long enough for the camera to pick up all the light it needed -- at least I think that&#039;s what happened. Science isn&#039;t my best subject. ;)</description>
