Someday, I’ll Understand
Sunday, Oct 12th, 2008 by Janna

I do not know why oft ’round me,
My hopes all shattered seem to be;
God’s perfect plan I cannot see,
But someday, I’ll understand.
I cannot tell the depth of love,
Which moves the Father’s heart above;
My faith to test, my love to prove,
But someday, I’ll understand.
Someday, He’ll make it plain to me,
Someday, when I His face shall see;
Someday, from tears I shall be free,
For someday, I shall understand.
- from the hymn, Someday He’ll Make it Plain

What a beautiful hymn! This comes as a timely reminder for me – I have been tempted to question the journey that God is taking me on. This post was an encouragement to me. Thank you!
Janna, you find such delightful pictures that adorn your posts so well. Would you mind sharing where you find them?
Hello, Natasha. I’m so glad you’ve been encouraged by this hymn. It was written ‘way back in 1911 by a lady named Lydia S. Leech. She sure had a wonderful way with words! I love the simple, yet powerful statement of faith, “But someday, I’ll understand.” Oo, man. That gives me the shivers.
I have a growing collection of fine art images, downloaded mainly from the Art Renewal Center website. A very useful website; but caution is needed while browsing. It’s just like any real art museum you might visit… Some of the ladies aren’t very modest!
Okay, thanks for the warning, Janna!
