Where Have I Been?
Thursday, Dec 4th, 2008 by Janna
Nearly two weeks have slipped by without my making a single entry in my weblog. This calls for some sort of explanation, doesn’t it? My face takes on a martyr-like expression, my voice employs a wheedling tone, and I begin…
… “Well, I have been very busy lately!” …

…Getting in my exercise, ice-skating on Midge Lake…

…Attending an Autumn-themed tea party, hosted by friends…

…Making nearly 100 pounds of potato sausage–a Christmas tradition!…

…Singing in our cousin’s wedding, held in the Twin Cities…

…(Visiting the Capitol building, too!)…

…Spending Thanksgiving with my dear family, enjoying Mom’s delicious turkey dinner…

…And my favorite-est — holding my little Elinor!
P.s. Erica took all these photos except the potato sausage one.

We forgive you. Just don’t let it happen again.
Love the update Janna! Little Elinor is so precious!! I can’t wait to see her someday. She will probably be walking before I do though…how sad!
Elinor is such a cutie! She is growing up so fast! Glad to have you posting again.
Forgiven! IF… you tell me, what exactly is potato sausage? Is it made out of potatoes? It looks delicious!
Dear Melinda,
Potato sausage is Scandinavian–a mixture of potatoes, ground beef, ground pork, salt, pepper and allspice. We like to eat it with extra salt and pepper, and butter melting on top!
Yours,
Janna
I love all these photos!
That potato sausage looks so good! I had never heard of it until I saw this but have done some research on it. I love the way your family does things to keep up family traditions. It seems so many things are lost
and I love the reports you give from your family. Have a Merry Christmas and enjoy all of the good things I am sure your mom will make.
